Shabbat

shabbat
come rest your soul
candlelight kiddush wine
the children's blessing sing shabbat
shalom

my baby

baby
my sweet baby
you're always in my mind
with eyes so blue and hair so blond
my child

baby
my sweet baby
I held you in my arms
I comforted you when you cried
my child

baby
my sweet baby
I could not be with you
when your little heart stopped beating
one day

baby
oh my baby
with you part of me died
I have no tears but still I cry
all night

Yahrzeit

A little poem written in memory of my daughter, who died on Sh'vat 3, 5762 at age five.
